The purpose of this study is to evaluate the contents of previous and current liberal education, and to devise its desirable directions in Theological universities. From its beginning. university education consists of two components: professional education and liberal education. Liberal education taught in Theological educational institutions, did not come from Christianity. This study pursues to answer the following questions. How has liberal education changed throughout history? What is the aim of liberal education today? Is it possible to implement a Christian liberal education? To which direction can a Theological University take m the field of liberal education in the 21st century ? This study suggested that the following points be achieved m Theological universities' liberal education: first, the integration of Christianity and academic learning. second, the preparation for the future information society with Christian world view; third, the development of character and communication skills; fourth, the promotion of active interaction between faculty and students; lastly, the provision of individualized and differentiated curriculum.
