This study aims to examine the aspects of how multiple meanings are divided and suggest teaching methods for polysemous words. The most crucial goal to learn Korean is to cultivate proper communication skills. Knowing the range of using words is directly related with acquiring knowledge on multi-sense words; thus, knowing the actual use of multi-sense words is important in that it is directly associated with the proper use of communicative skills. In polysemy education, the context of three layers, ‘combination, use, and knowledge’ discriminating meaning should be suggested in division. Among these, what is the most important is the layer of combined context. Context can always distinguish meanings, and we can figure out certain meaning within that context. Therefore, the context that can determine meaning should be provided to the learner. In order to suggest the use of polysemy meaning, we should always use the sequential relations of vocabulary such as superordinates and subordinates, opposite words, or synonyms and combined relations between certain vocabulary as well. It is because this corresponds to the way that vocabulary is stored in our brain. Like this, it is important for learners to memorize the range of using meaning by showing categorical differences of combined relations and sequential vocabulary relations for multi-senses.
