Recently there has been a growing public concern over indoor air quality in public-use facilities. Many countries introduced indoor air quality classification or certification systems in order to encourage building owners and facility managers to control indoor air quality voluntarily. In this study, domestic and foreign indoor air quality certification systems were reviewed and analyzed. Requirements and parameters were analyzed and categorized. The criteria of the pollutant levels were also examined and assessment process were compared. Based on the comparative analysis, appropriate assessment process and procedure were suggested for the indoor air quality certification system in Korea.
