This article aims to analyse listening textbooks for Korean language learning focusing on listening activities and to discover the problems about them in the textbooks and to suggest alternative listening activities for Korean language learners. Listening comprehension is no longer considered as a passive and receptive skills in communicative language teaching. In second-language education, listening comprehension is an active process of receiving the oral data, interpreting it, deciding what to remember and reacting about the given dicourse. To teach listening as the active skill, it is desirable that textbooks for listening skill have various activities, which allows students to play active roles as they`re supposed to do. Thus this article will examine Korean language textbooks and find out what activities are dominantly applied in the textbooks and what activities are limitedly used. And based on the result of the textbook-analysis, I will suggest types of activities that has been neglected in Korean listening textbooks but need to be included as listening activities in oder to let students develop the listening skills required to be a active Korean language listener.
