Purpose: The aim of this thesis is to understand the study trend by analyzing previous theory and academic study. It will form the basis to further develop future research. Method: To identify trends in ecological building in Korea, there are two parts. First is theoretical investigation and secondly the analysis is the published article on Ecological Building. The entry into force and revision of the legislation has been analyzed. The status analysis replaces theoretical considerations, since there is no theoretical formulation about “ecological construction”. The website “Korea Citation Index” searched “Environmentally friendly Building”, “Green Building”, “Ecological Building” as a keyword and the 540 selected articles became the basis for Text mining. With Text mining at RStudio program, the frequency analysis was enforced and Word cloud builds. Result: As conclusion, it is that the “Environmentally friendly Building”, “Green Building”, “Ecological Building” were used without clear definition and different explanation. Nevertheless, “Green Building” was defined by law, it does not take into account sustainability, which balances the social, economic, environmental aspect. So, in the future study, the theoretical consideration of the definition of ecological building has to be taken first.
