Recent advancements in Neural network have significantly enhanced image anomaly detection in industries such as manufacturing. Traditionally used to identify defects at the production line, image anomaly detection benefits from reduced human intervention, increasing productivity and quality. This survey focuses on the challenges of using 3D point cloud data, noting the difficulties in anomaly detecting sufficient high-quality data for effective training. It emphasizes the potential of un-supervised learning models, which operate well with less data but face real-world application challenges. The review highlights the need for further research in unsupervised image anomaly detection to maximize its industrial applications.
