The purpose of this study was to find the issues through review of debating over the doping in sport and to present a new framework for determining the logicality of anti-doping arguments in sport. The existing technological and ethical approach to anti-doping had many problems in terms of both theory and practice. It might be an alternative approach to identify the logicality of anti-doping arguments through ontological approach. The controversial issues in existing anti-doping arguments were explained by ‘the ethics of giftedness’. First, the discussions about the original nature and values of sport were disregarded in the existing anti doping arguments. It would be helpful to reflect and introspect what and how sport should practice for building the logical foundations of anti-doping arguments. Second, another controversial issue in the existing anti-doping arguments was the standards for natural characteristics of athletes. We should establish the standards for natural characteristics or sport would be degenerated as a feast for the eyes and then be regarded as mere pastimes and recreations. Third, the defenders of pro-doping claimed that it would be difficult to establish the standard for judging that the doping in sport was just or unjust, there could be many cases that destroyed the justice in sport except by doping, and it should be right to allow the doping in sport because the doping was already prevalent between athletes. But the issue of doping in sport should be treated in terms of observing the norm of sport community because the doping could dissolve sport practice community.
