The purpose of this study was to explore on the participation in Taekwondo education of multicultural families. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, three students from three multicultural families, three parents, and a total of six were selected as participants of the study. For the purpose of this study, literature review and in-depth interviews were conducted and the data were analyzed through inductive category analysis. The results of this procedure are as follows. First, it was found that the students from multicultural families participated in Taekwondo education to be strong as self defense. On the other hand, parents sent them to be be physically active and healthy. Second, we also found that taekwondo for students of multicultural families was a martial arts that can help to protect by themselves and grow their body and mind through the taekownod training. Third, before participating of Taekwondo education, students from multicultural families were found to exhibit emotional ups and downs, introverts, and passive personalities, however, positive physical capabilities, psychological confidences, and behavioral changes were improved after the taekwondo education. Fourth, also through the education, they thought that Korean history, patriotism, and national image were promoted.
