The importance of computer vision-based hand gesture recognition is steadily increasing with the development of technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR). Among techniques for hand gesture recognition, deep learning-based methods outperform existing model-based methods in terms of recognition accuracy.
In this paper, we analyze representative deep learning-based methods that utilize temporal information for recognizing continuous hand gestures. In addition, hand gesture recognition performances depending on the above representative deep learning-based methods are compared and analyzed to present future research directions.
