The challenge in aesthetic education and artistic creation lies in the reliance on the cerebral cortex for perceiving visual information and creating art through imitation of visual memory. However, studies in brain science have shown that the brain structures responsible for perceiving visual values and those involved in creative output are separate. The perceptual process occurs in the perceptual cortex, while the executive cortex provides the ability for creative output. This functional separation within the brain imposes limitations on the expression of beauty, which are not adequately addressed by current educational models.
This study employs a literature review approach combined with theoretical knowledge from neuroscience to analyze the functional structure of the brain, aiming to find a method that can optimize aesthetic education and artistic creation. Based on these theories, a design method is proposed that involves the collaborative interaction between the perceptual cortex and the executive cortex. Specifically, it involves converting the visual information perceived by the perceptual cortex into executable structural language for the executive cortex, and creating based on the structural language context. This represents a shift from relying on the sensory approach of the perceptual cortex to utilizing the cognitive approach of the executive cortex. This design framework has the potential to enhance the efficiency of aesthetic education and artistic creation.
