The aim of this paper is to examine the effects of oral presentation on fluency in English as a foreign language. A total of 26 university students were the participants who enrolled in the course `English Conversation` during the freshmen year of 2014 at a university of education in the southern part of Korea. Data were collected from two oral presentations the students performed in the beginning and at the end of the first semester, and analyzed in terms of the two main temporal aspects of utterance of the presentations, the speaking rate and mean length of runs. The findings showed that the speaking rate increased significantly from the first presentation (1.80) to the second (2.18), and the mean length o runs also ignificantly increased from 2.91 to 3.55 between the two. The results imply, first, that Korean learners seem to have considerably low speaking fluency in English and second, that oral presentation is an effective way of improving their fluency.
