This study aims to investigate how Korean English learners and Native English speaker interpret English telic verbs. Two hundred three Korean students and thirty native speakers of English participated in this study. Two types of telic verb tests (English and Korean) were implemented to both Native English speakers and Korean English learners who were classified into two groups according to their English proficiency. The results of this study showed most Korean English learners interpret English telic verbs according to the influence of Korean telic verbs. Especially beginner group learners had more difficulty in acquiring English telic verbs. Also the result indeed showed how native English speakers interpret English telic verbs in their real life. Pedagogical implications and directions of further studies were presented.
