This paper aims at identifying the authors of written texts by analyzing sentence ending markers (SEMs) in Korean. All sentential elements in Korean are attached by appropriate affixes to indicate a grammatical relation among them. The verb, which appears in the sentence-final position, ends up with a variety of SEMs. These SEMs are seen to play a vital role in identifying the author of a written text. For authorship identification, we collected the blog texts of three different authors and classified them into three groups, each containing approximately 500 sentences. We compared their SEMs among the three groups of texts. The findings reveal that their authors employ different SEMs, which are classified into 8 categories of identifying features. Each group of texts consist of a different array of these 8 features. We tested if this feature array could identify the author of additional blog texts through the Vector Similarity Analysis and obtained the accuracy rate of 86.7%. Accordingly, we argue that SEMs can become a valid indicator for identifying the author of a written text in Korean.
