The primary aim of the present study is to explore how WE-based instruction in general English course impacts on EFL college students’ perspectives toward WE. Unlike the previous studies that mostly focused on questionnaire, the current study aims to capture EFL learners’ voices through learner journal. Throughout a semester, the instructor of the course offered WE-based lecture with a focus on WE-related theories, shared lectures by WE specialists, online live sessions with universities in foreign countries, and lessons on Asian Englishes. A total of 23 college level EFL students participated in the study. While they were taking the course, it was required for them to submit 10 journals respectively to share their perspectives toward WE-based instruction and issues in WE area. According to the data, a majority of the participants became to recognize the importance of WE issues. However, due to realistic problems, they were reluctant to implement the WE based instruction in the regular English curriculum.
