Pagoda tree, amur cork tree, sappan wood and cochineal were various medical effects. They were selected as natural dyes guessing the effects of the biological activities are still appeared on dyeing. It was examined whether they have the function of UV blocker or not. Cotton and Silk were dyed with natural dyestuffs. UV blocking rate of dyed samples was measured.
The results of this study as follows;
Pagoda tree, amur cork tree, sappan wood and cochineal showed a superior UV blocking rate. Especially, cotton and silk fabrics dyed with amur cork tree showed perfect UV blocking rate.
