The tragedy of ≪King Lear≫ started from his stranger oblivion(forgets people). He makes a big mistake, banishing his honest last daughter and suffers from the wilderness getting betrayed and expelled by his first, second daughters. But his penance was more than nothing. It was the road to enlightenment, truly finding himself, discovering the world and others. ‘Discovering others’ is an action of becoming an individual, leading to enlightenment. At the same time it also implies deindividuation, more positively said ‘an action of making a relationship with others.’This is the opposite of being separated and isolated from the relationship with other entities. At the end of this process, Lear dies. So, the death of Lear is a tie knot of the moment he faces during the process of making relationships actively. The death of Lear is not an obligate, passive one but it is a death he meets during the process of an active individuation. Lear’s death coexists with his Cordelia’s death. The death of Lear and Cordelia is a knot between life and life and it should be understood as a process of life. Approaching Lear and Cordelia’s death in ≪King Lear≫ with a becoming-ontological point of view means : thinking death as a mutual circulation with life, not a hostile one. There are two different thoughts about life and death. The ‘death -> life -> death’structure sees that life is only a postponement of death. Here, life is defined as the denial of death. Death has a dark, dreadful image here and you absolutely want to avoid it. On the other hand, the ‘life -> death -> life’structure regards death as a process of new life. Here, death is not the end of life but it is understood as a process of new life. Understanding death as a process of starting a new life, not a thing that ends and set limits to an individual level, is the way creation-ontology thinks about death. Regarding death as a positive thing that you must go through means acknowledging the process of a new creation. It means new life is only possible through death. Acknowledging new creation of life is only possible when you get death as a process, not an end and when you get life and death as a continuous flow, not an exclusive one. The death of Lear and Cordelia is understood as a process of life that become a new life, not an end of life. The two deaths can be seen futile and unreasonable but they are the deaths that affirms the outstanding becoming of life. There are absolutely no negative atmosphere about their deaths.
