The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between learners" writing abilities and the English writing class with integrated speaking and writing instruction, as well as to explore learners" perceptions of the class. The participants in this study comprised 60 non-English major students who were enrolled in English writing courses at a university. They were divided into two groups: one with integrated speaking and writing instruction and the other with writing-only instruction. English composition tests were administered both before and after the treatment, and participant perceptions of integrated speaking and writing instruction were explored through questionnaires and interviews. SPSS statistical analysis was utilized for data analysis, revealing that students who participated in the English writing class with integrated speaking and writing instruction experienced notable improvements in their writing abilities, particularly in the aspects of organization, vocabulary, and mechanical factors, as assessed in the writing evaluations. Furthermore, this integrated approach to English writing instruction had a positive impact on college students" satisfaction and interest in writing in English. The interaction between students also had a beneficial influence on both their English writing abilities and the affective factors of college students.
