The objective of this study is to deduct the range of illuminance and color temperature which is psychologically comfortable and stable, and can secure visibility. The presented lighting variables consist of 4 sorts of color temperatures of 3,000 K,4,000 K, 5,000 K, and 6,000 K, and 7 sorts of illuminance of 4 lx, 10 lx, 20 lx, 40 lx, 100 lx, 200 lx, and 400 lx. After getting the participants in the experiment to adapt themselves to the presented lighting environment for one minute, this study conducted an assessment of the evaluation vocabulary of ‘Comfortable-Stabilized’ , ‘ Uneasy-Tense’ and ‘of good Visibility’ by getting the participants to do so using the 5-phase Likert Scale. In addition, this study looked into separability and readability at a distance of 3 meters through ‘Telling the direction of the perforated part of Landolt ring’ and ‘Numeral Reading.’ The study results are as follows: 1) The participants were found to be uneasy and tense in illumination of less than 20 lx. On the contrary, the participants were found to be comfortable, stabilized, and more than normal even in visibility in illuminance of over 40 lx. This implies that at least more than 40 lx should be secured to secure psychological stability and visibility in the space requiring movements, or simple behavior. 2) As a result of doing readability evaluation through separability evaluation using Landolt ring, and numeral reading, the higher the space brightness, the more possible the cognition of even a tiny size form. In addition, the higher the color temperature, the easier it was to judge the form of an object by separation, or to read numerals.
