The purpose of this study is the analysis and the consideration of disagreement that was appeared during conversation.
The data was collected by the conversation of six pairs of Japanese female university students and Korean female university students that haven`t seen each other.
The character of disagreement that was appeared in the discussion of Japanese female native speakers and Korean female native speakers was analyzed.
The disagreement that was appeared in data was classified as 「the disagreement about self-evaluation」, 「the disagreement about the other party evaluation」, 「the disagreement about evaluation and assumption related work」, 「the disagreement about fact and knowledge」according to the content of the induced utterance.
As the result of the disagreements, utterance was expressed as 58 times in the conversation of Japanese native speakers and 78 times in the conversation of Korean native speakers.
The utterances of 「the disagreement about fact and knowledge」were expressed mostly in utterance of Japanese native speakers. The utterances of 「the disagreement about the other party evaluation」 were expressed mostly in utterance of Korean native speakers.
「the disagreement about self-evaluation」and 「the disagreement about the other party evaluation」 that were appeared at Japanese native speakers were used for not oppose and conflict but modesty and consideration. The disagreement with modesty and consideration was appeared at Korean native speakers but the disagreement with oppose and conflict was more appeared.
Japanese native speakers used the disagreement with modesty and consideration to the first meeting person. It means that they want to make well-rounded relation and maintain it because they thought the personal relations is made in the first meeting.
Korean native speakers used the various disagreements in the various situations. Besides, there was not the limitation about the speaking of own`s opinion, so Korean native speakers gave a lot of chance for disagreement to the other party. It was considered that the allowance range between Korean native speakers for speaking own`s opinion was extensive.
