The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of peer feedback and determine more effective writing intervention in improving the quality of writing. The study was conducted in the freshmen writing classes at a university in Korea. The data was collected over the course of the semester, and an analysis in the improvement of writing quality is measured by collecting writing samples at the end of the semester and comparing the scores. A careful analysis of the previous study indicates that peer feedback results in improved student writing in lexical and syntactic complexity and in macro-level (e.g., organization, content) and micro-level (e.g., grammar, mechanics) writing skills: Overall, students with peer feedback made more gains in their writing than students with self-revising.
